Welcome Prof. Mohd Hafiz Dzarfan Othman as Editor-in-Chief of Mechanical Theory and Systems

We are delighted to announce that Prof. Mohd Hafiz Dzarfan Othman has been appointed as Editor-in-Chief of Mechanical Theory and Systems (MTS).

Prof. Othman is a distinguished faculty member at the Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), and serves as the Deputy Director of the Advanced Membrane Technology Research Centre (AMTEC). He received his Bachelor and Master degrees from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia and PhD from Imperial College London, United Kingdom. His research interests encompass ceramic and polymeric membrane technologies for water treatment, energy generation, gas separation, and water reclamation. His work has resulted in over 80 Scopus-indexed publications, multiple patents, and international recognition including the Asian Invention Excellence Award and the Best Invention Award at INATEX.

Prof. Othman’s editorial experience includes serving as Lead Guest Editor for the International Journal of Polymer Science, Editor for Jurnal Teknologi, and reviewer for more than 10 refereed journals. His leadership extends to national and international scientific communities, including active membership in the Young Scientist Network-Academy of Science Malaysia (YSN-ASM) and the Global Young Academy (GYA).

Under his stewardship, Mechanical Theory and Systems will continue to advance its mission of publishing rigorous, innovative research that bridges theoretical mechanics with practical engineering systems.
